Made It Safe

I am back in Phoenix!! I did have and interesting time trying to fly out of Salt Lake. I was supposed to fly out on late Friday night to go to Phx, but of course it snowed all day on Friday that I was worried about driving to the airport, that my flight would be delayed, or worse canceled! So on the suggestion from a friend (thanks again Nikki for driving me!) I decided to see about changing my flight to Saturday morning and boy was I glad that I did. The roads were so much better than the night before. Going through the canyon was still a little scary, but nothing that Nikki couldn't handle.
We get to the airport and I walked in to check my bags and I about fell over. The line for Southwest to check bags was FOREVER LONG. It took me a little over 45 min. to get up to the counter, and then the lady was talking on the phone and I didn't think it was a business call. I had to ask her if I was good to go, and she finally checked my license and sent me on my way. She didn't even put those lovely late check in stickers on my bags so I had to let the guy know what time my flight was so my bags could hopefully get on the same plane as me. I ran to security to get into another line, but lucky for me this one moved a lot faster, but I still had like 10 min. to get to my gate. I walked as quickly as I could and got to my gate just as they were boarding my group. I was so relived and very thankful to be on the plane! Everything always does work out in the end, but the middle can sure be stressful!

Baking Day

Wow this must be a record for me, three posts in one day! I think that I am starting to get into this blogging thing. I can now see why everyone likes it so much. Thanks Nat for helping me to start this you are the best. Back to my post. Last Friday I took the day off from work and Nikki, Sandra, and I had a baking day. We looked through many cookbooks and finally decided on four things. I know we made fudge, cookies, and two different kinds of bars. I will probably sound big headed, but I thought that everything turned out really good.

My First 5K Run

I did this about a month ago, but I was very proud of what I had accomplished with the help of some friends. I have a friend named Katie that mentioned that she was doing a 5K run which I believe is about 3 miles. I decided that didn't sound too bad and that I could do it. Plus I really like doing things that I have never done before. So I enlisted Sandra to run with me, but also to help train me because I have never really ran before. Sandra was a good trainer, she helped me to run even when I didn't want to which was pretty much everyday. I just kept telling myself that I could do it. was harder than I thought to start running let alone work my way upto 3 miles. But finally the day arrived and I have to admit I was a little nervous waiting for the race to start. I was glad that Sandra and Katie were there with me. I think that we all did great.

Here is a picture of Sandra and I after the race. I need to get a picture of all three of the runners!

I woke up this morning and opened my blinds and to my surprise this is what I saw, you guessed it snow! This picture I must admit makes it look so peaceful and pretty which it is until you have to drive in it. I realize I sound a bit negative snow can be fun. I do like to go sledding, snowshoeing, and yes I do like to throw snowballs occasionally. By this afternoon however most of the snow had melted. We are supposed to have another storm this weekend...very exciting

Well I am back from spending a week in Phoenix with my parents for Thanksgiving. I had a fabulous time while I was there. I really enjoyed being able to visit with really good friends, eat a lot of food, and of course help my mom put up all the Christmas decorations around their house! I have to say I think we did it this year in record time. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Peer Pressure

Well it has finally happened, I have joined the blogging world! If it hadn't been for my very good friend (who shall remain nameless) I probably would never have started this. I am excited to do this it should be fun.
